New trial aims to find best treatment for returning leukemia

Summary
This study tests whether a gentler, low intensity therapy works better than strong chemotherapy for people whose acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has come back or not responded to treatment. About 339 adults with AML in their first or second relapse will be randomly assigned to one of the two approaches. The goal is to see which treatment helps patients live longer without the cancer worsening.
