New study tests bone grafts to speed up dental implants
NCT ID NCT07324083
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using a patient's own tooth as a bone graft helps preserve the jawbone after a tooth is pulled, allowing a dental implant to be placed sooner. Twenty-two adults who needed a premolar removed took part. Some received a graft made from their own tooth, some got a synthetic graft, and some had no graft. After six months, implants were placed and loaded within two days. The goal was to see which method best maintained bone width and supported the implant over two years.
