Breakthrough drug could give sensitized kids a second chance at kidney transplant

NCT ID NCT05753930

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a drug called imlifidase in 10 highly sensitized children aged 1-17 who need a kidney transplant. These children have antibodies that make it hard to find a matching donor. The drug aims to quickly clear those antibodies so the transplant can happen. After the transplant, children will take standard anti-rejection medicines to keep the new kidney working.
