New protocol aims to tame Post-Surgery gut paralysis

NCT ID NCT07194525

Summary

This study tested a step-by-step treatment plan for managing a common complication where the bowels temporarily stop working after abdominal surgery. Researchers followed 60 patients to see if doctors could apply the plan consistently and if it was safe. The plan included specific rules for using a stomach tube, certain medications, and scans to help the bowels start working again.
