Simple blood test may spot Kids' rare lung disease early

NCT ID NCT07559435

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at two substances in the blood, IL-6 and MMP-7, to see if they can help doctors diagnose and predict the course of a rare lung disease in children. The disease causes inflammation and scarring in the lungs. Researchers will measure these markers in 60 children with the disease and compare them to healthy children. The goal is to find a simple blood test that leads to earlier diagnosis and better treatment decisions.
