Summary
This study looked at whether a substance in the blood called interleukin-6 (IL-6) can help predict which newborns will develop meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS), a serious breathing problem. Researchers measured IL-6 levels in 120 full-term babies born with meconium-stained amniotic fluid. The goal was to see if higher IL-6 levels could identify babies at risk for MAS, potentially allowing for earlier monitoring and care.
