Light therapy restores immune balance in skin cancer patients
NCT ID NCT07235813
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at 16 people with mycosis fungoides, a rare skin lymphoma, and measured levels of a protein called IL-35 in their blood and skin before and after phototherapy (light treatment). IL-35 was found to be higher in patients than in healthy people, but after phototherapy it dropped back to normal. The findings suggest that phototherapy may help restore immune balance, and IL-35 could become a useful marker to track how well treatment is working.
