Kidney biopsy guides fight against silent kidney killer
NCT ID NCT03188887
Summary
This study tested whether adding steroid therapy to standard kidney-protecting medications works better for IgA nephropathy patients with severe kidney damage seen on biopsy. Researchers compared two treatment approaches over two years in 62 adults with this autoimmune kidney disease. The goal was to see if using biopsy results to guide treatment could better protect kidney function and reduce protein in urine.
