New implant offers hope for chronic lower back pain sufferers

Summary

This study tests a surgical implant called iFuse TORQ to treat sacroiliac joint dysfunction, a common cause of lower back and buttock pain. About 110 adults with at least 6 months of pain that hasn't improved with other treatments will receive the implant to fuse the joint. The goal is to reduce pain and improve daily function.
