NCT ID NCT07342907

First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a therapy called internal family systems (IFS) for people with borderline personality disorder (BPD). IFS views the mind as having different 'parts' and helps people become more compassionate toward them. 15 participants will receive up to 50 therapy sessions over 15 months, and researchers will track changes in symptoms like emotional ups and downs and self-harm. This is the first study to test IFS specifically for BPD.
