First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study explores whether internal family systems (IFS) therapy can help people with borderline personality disorder (BPD). BPD causes intense emotions, unstable relationships, and self-harm. IFS teaches people to understand and be kind to the different 'parts' of their mind. Fifteen adults from Ontario will receive up to 50 therapy sessions over 15 months, and researchers will track changes in symptoms and daily functioning.
