Sound waves and immunotherapy join forces in early cancer trial
NCT ID NCT06524570
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests whether using high-intensity focused ultrasound to destroy tumors from the inside can boost the effects of immunotherapy drugs (ipilimumab and nivolumab) in adults with advanced cancer that has stopped responding to standard treatments. The main goals are to check if the combination is safe and tolerable, and to see how the tumors respond. About 24 participants will receive one ultrasound session while continuing immunotherapy.
