New drug combo shows promise for rare eye cancer that spreads

Summary
This study tests a new combination of two drugs (IDE196 and crizotinib) against standard treatments for people with a rare eye cancer (uveal melanoma) that has spread to other parts of the body. The trial includes 420 adults whose cancer cells lack a specific marker (HLA-A2 negative) and who have not had prior treatment for advanced disease. The goal is to see if the new combination improves how long people live or delays cancer growth.
