Can a simple bedside test predict which ICU patients will survive?
NCT ID NCT07191743
Summary
This study aims to see if a simple physical function test, given when patients enter and leave the intensive care unit (ICU), can help predict their chances of survival and how long they might need a breathing machine. Researchers will observe 186 adult ICU patients in Brazil to see if changes in their test scores are linked to important outcomes like death or length of hospital stay. The goal is to gather knowledge that might help doctors better understand and monitor patient recovery, not to test a new treatment.
