Doctors seek better way to know when to take ICU patients off breathing machines
NCT ID NCT07268989
Summary
This study aims to find out if specific measurements from a breathing machine (ventilator) can help doctors predict which intensive care unit (ICU) patients are ready to breathe on their own. Researchers will observe 60 adult ICU patients who are about to be taken off the ventilator. They will record several breathing measurements and then see if those numbers correctly predict which patients succeed in staying off the machine for 48 hours.
