Can a simpler check save lives on breathing machines?

NCT ID NCT07212881

Summary

This study aims to find out if using simpler, less strict rules to identify problems in patients on breathing machines (ventilators) can better predict who is at risk of dying in the ICU or needing the machine for a long time. Researchers will observe 200 adult patients in an intensive care unit who are on a ventilator for at least two days. They will track patients' daily breathing support levels and compare different sets of rules to see which one gives the most useful warning signs.
