Simple bedside test may forecast fate of critically ill elderly

Summary
This study aims to see if a quick bedside checklist, called the NECPAL scale, can help doctors identify which elderly patients in the Intensive Care Unit are at the highest risk of dying within 90 days. It will enroll 199 patients aged 75 or older. The goal is to gather knowledge to improve future care planning and conversations with families.
