International study aims to quench ICU Patients' thirst

NCT ID NCT07157917

Summary

This study is testing whether a translated thirst management protocol can help reduce severe thirst in ICU patients who have just had their breathing tubes removed. Researchers will compare the new protocol against usual care in 120 patients in Taiwan and Brazil. The goal is to see if this culturally adapted approach provides better comfort for awake patients who can communicate.
