New ICU cleaning method tested on 10,000+ patients to fight deadly infections
NCT ID NCT05673226
Summary
This large study tested whether adding a disinfectant called organosilane to the usual cleaning routine in hospital intensive care units (ICUs) could better prevent infections patients catch during their stay. It involved over 10,000 adult patients across multiple ICUs. Researchers compared infection rates in units using the new method against those using standard cleaning alone.
