Music and scents in the ICU: a soothing path to faster recovery after heart surgery
NCT ID NCT07116941
Summary
This study is testing whether simple, non-drug activities can help adults recover better after major heart surgery while they are in the intensive care unit (ICU). Researchers will compare standard care to three different 30-minute sessions: listening to music, doing mental exercises, or a combination of gentle touch and calming scents. The goal is to see which approach best reduces anxiety, improves physical function, and helps patients become more independent sooner.
