Summary

This study tested a new sedative medicine for adults in intensive care who need help breathing from a machine. The goal was to see if the drug could keep patients comfortably sedated for at least three days and allow them to wake up quickly when needed. Researchers measured how well it worked and checked for side effects in a small group of 24 participants.
