ICU protein puzzle: does a new math for feeding save more muscle?

NCT ID NCT07312708

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to calculate how much protein critically ill patients in the ICU need. Researchers are comparing two methods: one based on a patient's total body weight and another based on their lean muscle mass. They will look at 620 past and current patients to see which dosing method leads to better muscle preservation, faster recovery, and shorter hospital stays.
