Double cleanse for overdose: new ICU method aims to flush pills faster
NCT ID NCT07201311
Summary
This study is testing if a two-part gut cleaning method works better than standard care for people in intensive care after a severe pill overdose. It will involve 200 patients who are on a breathing machine. Researchers will compare a standard charcoal treatment against charcoal plus a bowel-clearing solution to see which reduces drug levels in the blood more over 24 hours.
