ICU study tests if less phosphate is just as good for critically ill

NCT ID NCT07288944

Summary

This study compares two standard approaches for giving phosphate to critically ill patients in intensive care. Researchers want to see if using a more restricted amount of phosphate works just as well as giving more liberal amounts. The trial will involve 2,400 adult ICU patients across multiple hospitals, with each hospital switching between the two treatment methods over time.
