High-Tech watchdog for hospital IVs aims to stop painful complications
NCT ID NCT07046624
Summary
This study is testing a new electronic monitoring system designed to help nurses spot problems with IV lines earlier. It will be used with adult patients in intensive care units who are receiving medication through a peripheral IV. The goal is to see if this system can reduce common complications like phlebitis (vein inflammation), infiltration (fluid leaking into tissue), and extravasation (medication leaking into tissue).
