New hope to fight infections in ICU: drug trial aims to revive weakened immune systems
NCT ID NCT06694740
Summary
This study is testing if a drug called interferon gamma can help critically ill patients in intensive care. These patients often have a weakened immune system after a severe illness or injury, which makes them vulnerable to new infections. The trial will see if boosting their immune response helps them recover faster, spend less time on a ventilator, and survive their ICU stay.
