Breath test could prevent dangerous fluid overload in ICU
NCT ID NCT07304648
Summary
This study aims to find a better way to guide fluid treatment for critically ill patients in the ICU. Researchers will test if a simple, non-invasive breath monitor can accurately predict which patients will benefit from receiving IV fluids. They will compare this breath test to a small, controlled fluid challenge in 68 adult patients on breathing machines.
