Who speaks for you in the ICU? study reveals who doctors, patients, and families trust most
NCT ID NCT03261258
Summary
This study aimed to understand how a trusted contact person is chosen for patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Researchers compared the criteria used by the medical team, the patients themselves, and their close friends or family members. They surveyed 42 participants to identify differences in how these groups select someone to help make medical decisions when a patient is too ill to speak for themselves.
