Hidden danger: ICU catheters may leave blood clots behind
NCT ID NCT07473284
Summary
This study aims to understand blood clots that form around catheters in intensive care patients and remain in the vein even after the catheter is taken out. Researchers will observe 300 ICU patients to see how often this happens, identify what factors increase the risk, and track whether these clots cause problems like lung blockages or long-term vein damage. The goal is to gather better information to help doctors manage this common but poorly understood ICU complication.
