Major ICU study tests if standard treatments actually work best

Summary
This large international study is testing whether common supportive treatments in intensive care units work best as currently used. It will compare different approaches to blood pressure medications, platelet transfusions, and feeding methods for 5,500 critically ill patients. The goal is to find the most effective ways to manage these routine but under-studied aspects of ICU care.
