Turning the tide on bed sores: finding the right timing for ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07355439

Summary

This study aimed to find out how long patients in intensive care can safely stay in one position before needing to be turned, to prevent painful bed sores (pressure injuries). Researchers monitored 82 critically ill patients who could not move themselves, checking their skin for early warning signs like redness, temperature changes, and swelling. The goal was to gather evidence to help nurses decide the best schedule for repositioning patients to keep their skin healthy.
