First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special green dye, injected before surgery, can help surgeons see and protect nerve roots during minimally invasive spine surgery for herniated discs. Forty patients were randomly assigned to receive different doses of the dye or no dye. The goal was to see if the dye makes nerves glow under a special camera, potentially reducing the risk of nerve injury.
