Online therapy shows promise for new moms battling postpartum depression

NCT ID NCT07384273

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding an internet-based therapy program (iCARE) to standard care helps reduce symptoms of postpartum depression more than standard care alone. About 352 new mothers in Denmark who gave birth within the last 6 months and have mild to moderate depression symptoms will participate. The therapy combines cognitive behavioral therapy with acceptance and commitment therapy, delivered online so mothers can use it at home.
