Common painkiller tested as potential Heart-Scarring treatment

NCT ID NCT06686862

Summary

This study is testing whether a 3-week course of ibuprofen works better than standard pain relievers like acetaminophen to reduce heart scarring in people recovering from acute myocarditis (heart inflammation). Researchers will follow 150 patients for a year, using heart scans to measure scarring at 3 and 6 months. The goal is to see if this common anti-inflammatory drug can help control the disease and improve long-term heart health.
