Summary

This study aims to understand how a person's ability to digest starch and sugar affects their body's response to a meal, specifically for people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Researchers will compare 70 IBS patients who have lower levels of a key digestive enzyme to those with normal levels. Participants will eat a sugar-rich meal, and researchers will track their blood sugar and bowel symptoms over two hours to see if there are differences between the two groups.
