New gut supplement trial offers hope for IBS sufferers

Summary
This study is testing whether two different mixes of a special sugar (HMO-2FL) and a gut-friendly ingredient (postbiotic-LB) can help reduce common IBS symptoms like abdominal pain, bloating, and irregular bowel movements. About 402 adults with IBS will take either one of the two active mixes or a placebo daily for 6 weeks, and neither they nor the researchers will know which one they get. The main goal is to see if these supplement mixes lead to a greater improvement in overall IBS symptoms compared to a placebo.
