New hope for stroke patients: direct artery drug may boost recovery
NCT ID NCT07336927
First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether injecting a clot-busting drug directly into the blocked brain artery helps people recover better from a medium vessel stroke compared to standard medical care. About 614 adults who cannot receive standard clot-dissolving medicine through a vein will be randomly assigned to get the artery injection or usual treatment. The goal is to see if this approach reduces disability and improves daily function within 24 hours of stroke onset.
