First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether an artificial intelligence tool called i-ROP DL helps eye doctors more accurately diagnose a serious eye disease (retinopathy of prematurity) in premature babies. Sixteen eye doctors will review hundreds of eye images, some with and some without the AI's help. The goal is to see if the AI improves detection of the disease, which could lead to earlier treatment and prevent blindness.
