Scientists test if night-time oxygen drops make breathing harder

NCT ID NCT06714435

Summary

This study aimed to understand if repeated oxygen deprivation, like what happens in sleep apnea, reduces the brain's ability to train breathing muscles. Healthy volunteers performed breathing exercises twice: once after 6 hours in normal air and once after 6 hours in low-oxygen air. The results could help doctors better manage breathing problems like asthma attacks.
