Study seeks best way to fix common birth defect in boys
NCT ID NCT07243457
Summary
This study compared two standard surgical techniques for repairing hypospadias, a birth condition where the opening of the penis is in the wrong place. It involved 110 boys aged 1-12 years to see if leaving a small temporary tube (a stent) in place after surgery leads to fewer complications, like leaks, compared to surgery without a stent. The goal was to find the approach that causes less discomfort and fewer problems for children after their operation.
