First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested two ways to manage pain in children getting stitches in the emergency room: a gas called MEOPA (a mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen) versus hypnosis (with MEOPA available if needed). Sixty children took part. The goal was to see which approach better controlled pain during the procedure, measured by a special pain scale. The results help doctors choose the best comfort method for kids.
