First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether hypnosis can help manage pain after colon surgery (colectomy). Forty-two adults received either standard care or standard care plus a hypnosis session before and after surgery. The goal was to see if hypnosis reduces pain and anxiety, and whether a larger study is worth doing. Results will guide future research on non-drug pain relief.
