Hypnosis eases Post-Surgery pain in small trial

NCT ID NCT06499909

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether hypnosis can help manage pain after colon surgery (colectomy). Forty-two adults having planned colon surgery were split into two groups: one received standard pain care, and the other also had hypnosis sessions before and after surgery. Researchers measured pain levels using simple pain scales to see if hypnosis made a difference. The goal was to see if a larger study is worth doing.
