Community takes steps to fight high blood pressure

NCT ID NCT03484364

Summary

This study tested a 6-month community program designed to help Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander adults better manage their high blood pressure. The program provided weekly education on healthy eating, traditional foods, medication use, and exercise, supported by text messages. Researchers measured changes in blood pressure, diet, and medication habits to see if this community-focused approach worked better than usual care.
