Pressurized oxygen tested as new hope for lingering concussion effects
NCT ID NCT05173818
Summary
This study tested whether breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber (hyperbaric oxygen) could help adults who still have symptoms like headaches, poor memory, and sleep problems months to years after a concussion. Twenty participants were randomly assigned to receive either the real oxygen treatment or a sham (fake) treatment to see if it improved their brain function and quality of life. The goal was to find a new way to manage these persistent and often debilitating symptoms.
