Summary

This study tests a program to help doctors and clinics in Nigeria prescribe hydroxyurea, a medicine that reduces pain and complications from sickle cell disease. The study will enroll 900 patients and train healthcare workers to screen, start, and maintain patients on hydroxyurea over time.
