Summary

Active substance
Hydronidone capsules
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a new treatment option to control liver fibrosis in people with chronic hepatitis B or fatty liver disease.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 200 participants and no placebo group, so results may not confirm effectiveness. The 28-day treatment period is short, and long-term safety or benefit is unknown.
