Strawberry milk vs water: which drink hydrates kids best?

NCT ID NCT06967454

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 41 times

Summary

This study tested three drinks—strawberry-flavored semi-skimmed milk, a new whey-based drink, and plain water—to see which one keeps children aged 9 to 11 hydrated the longest. Over four separate mornings, 13 healthy kids drank each beverage and provided urine, blood, and breath samples. Researchers also checked their mood, thinking skills, and appetite after drinking. The goal was to find the best drink for fluid retention and overall hydration in school-age children.
