New Fat-Melting injection for double chin enters human testing
NCT ID NCT06756490
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early-stage trial tests a new drug called HY-2003, a fat-dissolving injection for people with moderate to severe double chin. About 30 adults will receive either HY-2003, an existing treatment (BELKYRA), or a placebo. The main goal is to check safety, but researchers will also look at how well it reduces chin fat.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
liposome-encapsulated deoxycholic acid (HY-2003)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new injectable option for reducing double chin fat with potentially fewer side effects than current treatments.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 1 trial with only 30 participants, so safety and effectiveness are not yet proven. The treatment may cause injection-site reactions or fail to reduce fat better than placebo.
