New hope for tough cancers: first patients test experimental pill

Summary
This is the first human study of an experimental oral medication called HW071021 for people with advanced solid tumors that have stopped responding to standard treatments. The trial will first test increasing doses to find a safe level and then expand to gather more data on how the body processes the drug and whether it shows early signs of helping control the cancer. It is enrolling adults with various advanced cancers, including lung, colorectal, and pancreatic cancer, who have run out of other options.
