Vaccine tested as a shield against wart return
NCT ID NCT02750202
Summary
This study tested whether giving the HPV vaccine to women before they had surgery for large genital warts could help prevent the warts from growing back. Fifty-two women with extensive warts received either the HPV vaccine or a Hepatitis B vaccine, followed by standard surgical treatment. Researchers tracked the size of the warts and checked if the vaccine helped the body's immune system fight the virus better to reduce recurrences.
